2023 Chris Mountain Fire, Colorado

The Chris Mountain Fire burned 511 acres near Pagosa Springs in June and July.
I served as a PIO2 at the fire, which was nearly contained when I arrived, thanks to the direct firefighting tactics of hotshot crews and engine crews. The focus of the many assigned resources soon turned to mop-up and training opportunities.
