2023 Lookout Fire, Oregon

The Lookout Fire started by lightning on August 5, 2023. By September's end it was 25,754 acres, with about 1,000 personnel assigned at one point in time.
I served as a public information officer at the fire with both a T3 and a T2 IMT, photographing a BLM-Coordinated Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) module perform infrared (IR) and firing missions. Hand-lighting burning operations pictured were conducted by the local Mackenzie River Fire Crew. I returned to the Lookout Fire in late September to document a USFS-Coordinated UAS module conducting  training with field instruction and IR missions. VIDEO: UAS & Fireline Operations
