Wildland firefighting jobs are available every year. Requirements, deadlines, application processes, and contact information depend entirely upon the position sought. Among the federal agencies offering employment in wildland firefighting are: The United States Forest Service (USFS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and the National Park Service (NPS). Additionally there are various regional, state and local agencies and associations that also offer voluntary, seasonal, and full-time employment in wildfire-related capacities. Wildire Rehab/Prevention: Clearing vegetation: hand/power tools. Employment temporary/hourly or part of normal duty for regular employees. |

|
Inmate Crews: Type 1 and 2 hand crews, 20-persons. Responds to initial and extended attack incidents. (Employment temporary at best). |

|
Wildfire (Type 2) Hand-Crews: 20-person organized crews (OC's) responding to extended attack, some initial attack assignments. May be contract crews. Employment temporary, usually paid during fire assignment only. |

Hot Shot (Type 1) Hand-Crews: 20-person crews responding to initial attack/extended attack assignments. Employment 6 months. Positions are temporary, seasonal, or full-time. |

Helitak Crews: Moduals of 2+ crewpersons managing helicopter operations on initial and extended attack assignments. (Employment temporary, seasonal or full-time.) |

Rappellers (Type 1) Helishot Crews: From 10 to 24-person crews responding to initial/extended attack assignments. (Employment same as hot shots.) |

Wildfire Engine Crews: Type 1, 2 or 3 water-carrying engines staffed by 2-6 crewpersons, responding to initial/extended attack. (Employment same as hot shots.) |

|
Smokejumpers: Type 1 single-resource responding to initial/extended attack. (Employment same as hot shots.) |
