2005 FIRE NEAR ARCTIC VILLAGE

A stubborn fire on the banks of the Junjik River was my last fire of 2005. Flames smoldered in tundra and peat banks for a week. Embraced by the beauty of ANWR, it was clear that drilling for oil couldn't happen to a nicer place. |
