Arriving on scene we circled this fire - already taking root in the rugged border region near Eagle, Alaska. With no viable jumpspots and heavy air traffic in the area, we were forced to land and helicopter in to a large meadow - now a growing spike camp. Our first objective - contain a 5-acre spotfire across Boundary Creek. |
