2004 - ADVENTURES OF THE AMAZING EIGHT

|
There are few better ways for smokejumpers to battle the fatigue of a long fire season than to dwell upon self-induced delusions of greatness. Such was the case with eight Alaska Jumpers fortunate enough to team up against several interior wildfires in 2004. At the mere hint of drudgery - a bet, coin toss, open challenge or outright dare was put on the table for all to see. Belly flops, flips, or simply soaking in near freezing water for several minutes were just a few of the not so noteworthy accomplishments of the amazing eight, reminding us that fireline morale is rarely a problem among Alaska Smokejumpers. |
