Hot Shots work closely with engine crews in the urban interface. The Supe's patrol-truck carries 125 gallons at a time, while most Forest Service engines carry 500 gallons or more. Water tenders in semi-trucks or remote sources such as lakes and streams keep the pump tanks full.
