		The Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane began flying in 1962. Naming it it the CH-54 Tarhe, the U.S. Army utilized it extensively in Viet Nam. A cargo container fits under its fuselage with a maximum loaded weight of 20,000 lbs. At 65 feet long, the Sky Crane is a versatile workhorse employed in heavy logging and construction operations. On the fireline it can deliver 3000 gallons of water by belly tank or enormous long-line bucket, which requires its own tractor-trailer during ground transport.
